Me in a Box

Me in a Box is a screendance installation of solo 3D holograms, each housed in a box placed on a plinths around the space.

Made in partnership with Stagecoach Isleworth, the solos were choreographed by students during a series of workshops with Jo over the course of a term.

Each developed their own solo work based on a topic, fictional character, activity - or any subject whatsoever - which they felt reflected a part of their identity.

Having learned about choreographing for camera and filming techniques, experiencing a film shoot, and later relating their choreographic ideas to a composer in order to generate an original score for their work, the students saw their completed pieces presented to an audience in an installation setting.

Students were able to order hardware for themselves and after the exhibition, were able to take home their very own 'Me in a Box'.

Original score by Bartosz Szafranski
